智慧型電池充電器特性之研究

摘要


隨著VLSI技術的長足進步,引領了筆記型電腦、行動通訊、數位照相機、PDA與MP4 Player等可攜式電子產品大受歡迎。這些電子產品的電力來源都是使用可充電的二次電池。因此如何設計低功率電池電源電路搭配外接充放電電路,使其具有高的電源轉換效率與提昇電池供電的持久性和電池壽命的充放電耐次性,具有相當大的商機。 電池的基本保護設計項目,包括過電壓保護、過電流保護、過充電保護、過放電保護、失配保護、過熱保護、欠壓保護等等,每項保護都極為重要,也都會影響電池的壽命。這些保護設計功能可分別設置在電池電源電路與外接充放電器中。 由於鋰電池為高能量密度之蓄能裝置,具有爆炸著火之危險性,且又由使用者隨身攜帶,為了各種安全規章之要求,必須將部份電池的基本保護電路,配置於鋰電池身上。至於活動式的鉛酸電池、隨身式之鎳鎘與鎳氫電池,則因成本與實用性等方面的考量,並不時興於電池本身配置保護電路。因此,研究一種智慧型電池充電器之設計,使其兼具電池的基本保護功能,並具有高的電源轉換效率與提昇電池供電的持久性和電池壽命的充放電耐次性,將同時符合節能、人性化、經濟與環保等多重目的。

Promoted vy thr rapid progress of VLSI technology, all portable electronic product, such as NB computer, mobile phone, digital camera, PDA and MP4 player, have become more popular. They are all powered by the rechargeable batteries. The big commercial profit may come from two techniques. One is the lower power battery source cicuit, and the other is the baterry charging circuit. They allcould provide high power transfer efficiency and long the battery sustainability. The basic battery protection items include overvoltage, overcurrent, overchargeing, overdischargeing, mismatch, overheat and undervoltage protections of which each protection is essential for a successful portable electronic devices.. The Li-ion battery is a kind of energy saving device with high energy density, and inevidably faces against the danger of explosion. Because the battery is carried with the user, it is necessary to build the basic protection circuit into the Li-ion battery for the sake of safty. In the other hand, considering the cost and the practicality, the lead-acid batteries, Ni-Cd and Ni-H batteries are not equipped with the protection circuits in them. To meet the multiple purposes, including energy saving, humanity, thrift and environment protection, it deserves us to study a kind of design of intelligent battery charger with additional protection functions and high power efficiency.
