The DOI link will always direct you to the most updated article page no matter how the publisher changes the document's position, avoiding errors when engaging in important research.

Cite a document with DOI

This study ,《 Voicing from the place : The study of the sense of place of Taiwan’s contemporary independent music 》, discusses the linkage of people and place in Taiwan’s contemporary independent music creations from 1993 to 2013. 
In order to find the way “the place”  involving to the development of Taiwan’s contemporary independent music, this study comes with field investigation and personal interview, as well as  literature review. The main discussions begin from Chapter II to Chapter  IV.  
There are three selected topics in Chapter II, including the creation issues, the music styles and the language usage to analyze Taiwan’s contemporary independent music, to realize the form of “the place” inside and the culture meaning of the independent music creation with the heterogeneous combination of melody and lyrics.   
”Transformation” is the main discussion in Chapter III. It analyzes the transformation of the meaning of “nostalgia” which can be translated freely in music through different time and places. 
Through local surveys and personal interviews, we found the linkage of local music festivals and music creators under the sense of place. In the meantime, we also analyzed the performers themselves about their senses of creation and performance under different places. The music creators were inspired in different places to create their works, and they may have a wider angle view to “the core music” than the large-scaled music festivals and shows do.  
To sum up the literature review and field investigation, the findings show that the more sense of place in the independent music , the more sense of independence in it.  
Is there any possibility of the meaning of “the place” that can be studied and imagined extensively? 
This study hopes to come up with couples of the independent music works with the sense of place and their style formation process from 1993 to 2013. By interviewing with music creators and attending the music performances, we also know the current status and achievements of the independent music which has the sense of place and carrys over the traditional culture to influence the core music.
