China's position is rising in the global economy. She is the most important strength of Asia and world because of her heavy economic weight and deep degree of integration into the world economy. Over twenty years of mutual opening communications between Taiwan and China, the cross-strait’s relationship and the existence of Taiwan has already tightly linked together. While facing political, economical as well as military threats from China, in addition to the constant declaration of its sovereign right on Taiwan, the cross-strait’s relationship and the national identity of Taiwan are both changed. The Economic Cooperation Framework of Agreement (ECFA) between Taiwan and China were signed at June, 2010 and enterde into force in 2011. While the economic and trade relationship between the cross-strait is normalizing, the national identity of Taiwan has become increasingly high and that is the issue would like to discuss in the thesis. In recent years, China has recognized that resolving the Taiwan issue depends on the public support or opposition. China's policy toward Taiwan continue to strengthen those "counting on the Taiwanese people", a variety of so-called "Cayman" measures. She has increasingly emphasized that " doing the Taiwanese work". She hopes "pre-unification by trade" to reach peaceful reunification through cooperative attitude, adoption of flexible policy toward Taiwan, advocacy of keeping the status quo and the common interests of peaceful reunification. The main purpose of the thesis is to apply the concept and framework of Social Constructivism, the economic policy, events and poll-related data to comprehend the development of cross-strait economics and trade relations and the changing factors of the national identity of Taiwan
