Preliminary Chromosome Studies on the Vascular Plants of Taiwan (IV) Counts and Systematic Notes on Some Monocotyledons

This is a fourth paper on the chromosome studies of the vascular plants of Taiwan. The chromosome counts of 36 taxa belonging to 32 genera and 11 families of the monocotyledonous plants are reported together with some taxonomical notes in this paper.Of these chromosome observations, a total of 15 taxa are reported here for the first time and are not be found in the previous records.The basic number of the orchid genera Anoectochilus and Gastrodia is proposed to be X=12, and that of Peliosanthes (Liliaceae) is suggested to have the basic number of X=17.
