相思樹心材抽出物含浸實木耐久性之改善功效

Enhanced Durability of Solid Wood by Impregnating with Heartwood Extracts of Acacia confusa

摘要


本試驗以4種溶劑(水、70%丙酮、95%乙醇及乙醇/甲笨(v/v,1/2))萃取相思樹(Acacia confusa Merr.)心材之抽出物,再分別測定總酚類化合物、總黃酮類化合物及總原花青素之含量,以及清除DPPH自由基及螫合亞鐵離子等抗氧化活性之評估,並進行抗腐朽菌及木塊耐腐朽試驗。試驗結果得知,相思樹抽出物不具抑制腐朽菌生長之能力,但能保護青楓(Acer serrulatum Hayata)邊材抵抗腐朽菌Lenzites betulina、Trametes versicolor、Phanerochaete chrysosporium與Laetiporus sulphureus之降解。4種心材抽出物中,以70%丙酮抽出物之總酚類化合物與總原花青素含量最高,並具有最佳清除DPPH自由基與螫合亞鐵離子之活性。本研究結果證實,相思樹心材抽出物雖不能抑制腐朽菌之生長,卻能夠有效改善青楓邊材之耐腐朽能力,推論其作用機制係藉由大量酚類化合物清除自由基與螫合亞鐵離子之活性,阻斷腐朽菌之自由基降解系統。

Four extracts from Acacia confusa heartwood were obtained using maceration extraction with water, 70% acetone, 95% ethanol and ethanolltoluene (v/v, 1/2). The antifungal, wood-block decay-resistant capability and antioxidant activities (including total phenolic, flavonoid, proanthocyanidin contents, DPPH free radical scavenging and ferrous ions chelating) of extracts were investigated in this study. According to results of these bioassays, extracts from A. confusa heartwood did not possess antifungal activity, but bestowed strong protection capability on Acer serrulatum sapwood against wood-decay fungi (Lenzites betulina, Trametes versicolor, Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Laetiporus sulphureus). Among four heartwood extracts, the 70% acetone extracts contained the highest contents of total phenolic and proanthocyanidin. In addition, the extracts also showed the best DPPH free radical scavenging and ferrous ions chelating activities. These findings demonstrated that extracts from A. confusa heartwood have abundant phenolic compounds, and excellent free radical scavenging and ferrous ions chelating activities. Therefore, heartwood extracts can endow the solid wood with decay-resistant capability by inhibition of the free radicals decay-systems caused by wood-decay fungi.
