台北市民眾對職能治療專業認識程度之再調查

A Follow-up Survey for Awareness of Occupational Therapy among Taipei Residents

摘要

本研究延續五年前台北市民眾對職能治療認識程度之調查，以了解職能治療師法通過後職能治療專業被社會大眾認知的程度為何。620位年滿十八歲的台北市民眾接受對職能治療認識程度之電話訪問，結果顯示：百分之二十七的受訪者有聽過職能治療，約為五年前結果的三倍，但受訪者對職能治療的了解仍極有限，甚至誤解；且鮮有受訪者知道接受職能治療的途徑。民眾有/無聽過職能治療變項與受訪者基本資料之關聯性，以逐步對數迴歸分析做多變項關聯檢定，結果發現：年紀愈輕者愈有可能聽過職能治療，其預測正確率達73%。文末並對未來推廣職能治療的方向提出討論。

The purpose of this study was to reinvestigate the awareness of Occupational Therapy among Taipei residents after the passage of Occupational Therapy legislation in Taiwan. Six hundred and twenty Taipei residents aged 18 and over were surveyed by telephone. The results showed that 27% of the respondents had heard of Occupational Therapy. The ratio of the awareness among the Taipei residents had tripled compared with the results (8.5%) obtained 5 years ago. However, the understanding of Occupational Therapy among the respondents was limited and sometimes even mistaken, with rare respondents knowing where or how to access the services. The association between the variable ”awareness of Occupational Therapy” and demographic information about the respondents was examined using the stepwise logistic regression test, revealing that younger respondents were more likely to be aware of Occupational Therapy. Nearly 73% of the respondents were correctly classified by this factor. Recommendations to promote public awareness of Occupational Therapy are also provided.
