Pressure sore or bed sore or decubitus ulcer is due to prolonged and excessive pressure on the bony prominence of the body surface. From July, 1988 to April, 1990, 35 cases of pressure sore were admitted to Tz’u-chi Buddhist General Hospital. Spinal cord injury was the leading underlying disease. Sacrum was the most frequent involved area. Various operative procedures for the recon-struction of the pressure sores were presented in accordance to the site of the involvement. Hematoma was the most common complication. In order to handle the possibilicy of recurr-ence and multiple pressure sores, flap slection in consideration no to violate other flap vascu-lar territory were discussed. Average hospitalization day of the flap reconstructed cases were 93 days. Prevention and early surgical management are the goal of treatment.
