摘要

建築師為社會建設之主要角色，有關於建築師業務、經營型態等研究，目前雖然已有廣泛的研究成果；唯無論建築師之業務及經營型態為何種型式，身為專門職業服務工作之建築師們，除有責任去檢討現有執業環境、職業倫理之缺失外，更應積極瞭解、掌握未來社會變遷、工作環境新負擔及職業上潛在性之危機，同時需思考建築師之專業責任課題，以確保建築工程品質及去除未來執業風險之隱憂。
為澄清建築師是否能够面對未來社會對於工程品質確保之需求及承受營建環境變遷之法律責任負擔，本文除分析檢討國內外工程案例與探討相關專業保險之課題外，有關建築師執業定義、應扮演之角色、應盡之專業責任將是本文討論之範圍。

The role that architects play in community development remains an important one. While official studies on architectural activities as well as management concepts have seen widespread results, the fact remains that growing social expectations and ever-changing building codes (and legal requirements) continue to offer new challenges as well as increased liabilities to the architectural profession.
Whether members of the architectural field can continue to withstand such liability, several case studies, the basic criteria for architects, professional and ethical standards, and the scope of professional liability, will be reviewed and discussed in the following article.
