Schwannomas (neurilemmomas) are common neurogenic tumors of the peripheral nervous system. Sinonasal tract schwannomas are uncommon, especially those arising from the nasal septum (only 12 cases have been reported). We report the case of a 56-year old man who presented with the complaint of right nasal obstruction for several years. Anterior rhinoscopy showed a pale, polypoid mass occupying the right nasal cavity. Computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a right nasal cavity lesion compressing the medial wall of the maxillary sinus. The mass was completely excised from the nasal septum during endoscopic sinus surgery. Pathological examination confirmed that the lesion was a schwannoma. A review of the literature regarding clinical presentation, histology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic options for nasal septum schwannomas is included.
