咬肌對顱顏生長發育之影響-肉毒桿菌神經毒素注射咬肌後之觀察-

The Influence of Masseter Muscle on Craniofacial Growth and Development-The Observation of Botulinum Neurotoxin Injection into the Masseter Muscle

摘要


本研究藉由施打肉毒桿菌神經毒素於幼年大白鼠咬肌,造成咬肌萎縮,來探討咬肌對顱顏骨骼及生長發育的影響。研究方法是選取10隻30天年齡大的Wistar雄性大白鼠,將肉毒桿菌神經毒素施打入大白鼠一側咬肌,另一側施打生理食鹽水。待大白鼠發育至75天年齡大時將大白鼠犧牲,取下咬肌測量重量及做組識切片,並量測乾燥頭顱骨。結果發現大白鼠施打肉毒桿菌神經毒素側其咬肌重量及肌纖維截面積皆小於施打生理食鹽水側,其顱顏骨型態在顫骨弓至下顎骨綠距離,冠狀突切跡最前端至下顎骨角狀突最下點距離,均較生理食鹽水側距離小,有統計上之差異。實驗結果顯示咬肌萎縮後,確實會影響顱顏骨型態及生長發育。

This study was to evaluate the influence of masseter muscle on craniofacial growth and development by injection of botulinum neurotoxin to produce masseter muscle atrophy. Ten male Wstar rats (30 days old) received botulinum neurotoxin injection in one side of masseter muscle and normal saline n the other side; another three rats received no injection and serve as control group. All rats were sacrificed at 75 days of age. The masseter muscle were dissected and weighted and the anthropometric measurements were made directly on rat dry skulls. The results showed that the masseter muscle and muscle fiber cross-section area with botulinum neurotoxin injection was significantly smaller than that without injection. The craniofacial structures directly attached by masseter muscle were significantly smaller on the side with botulinum neurotoxin injection than that with normal saline injection. Our study suggested that atrophy of masseter muscle altered the craniofacial growth and development.
