How to Draw Campus Orienteering Maps With GIS

摘要


定向地圖是定向越野運動不可或缺的工具,也是定向越野運動發展的關鍵。臺灣目前較缺乏定向地圖繪製技術課程或研習,主要靠繪圖者自學。本文旨在介紹地理資訊系統(geographic information system, GIS)軟體之基本概念、學習方向及管道,提供臺灣定向地圖繪製者參考。本文使用GIS之軟體及工具繪製校園定向地圖,包括:開放街圖(OpenStreetMap, OSM)、開源地理資訊系統(Quantum GIS, QGIS)及無人飛行載具(unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV)等取得所需基本圖,再將基本圖匯入開放定向地圖繪製(OpenOrienteering Mapper, OOM)軟體後,著手進行校園定向地圖之繪製。地圖完成後舉辦定向活動,發揮定向地圖的應用性。本文認為定向地圖繪圖者透過GIS技術能更有效地產出地圖,並使繪製人數順勢成長。然而,國家底圖應開放更多圖資才有可能達到「地圖螞蟻」的理想,俾使臺灣定向越野運動的水準更加提升。

Orienteering maps are essential for the development and pursuit of orienteering as a sport. There are few formal courses in cartography available in Taiwan, so cartographers typically rely on self-study. This article aims to introduce the basic concepts and learning methods of geographic information system (GIS) software and tools, serving as a reference for mappers. Software and tools such as OpenStreetMap (OSM), map editing software Quantum GIS (QGIS), and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are utilized to create base maps. These base maps are then imported into OpenOrienteering Mapper (OOM) to draw the orienteering map. Once the map has been completed, a game can be organized to maximize the map's applicability. This article posits that cartographers can produce maps more efficiently using GIS technology, leading to a growth in the number of map creators. Nevertheless, the realization of the "MapAnt" concept is contingent upon the availability of national base maps, which are essential for advancing the standard of orienteering in Taiwan.
