Comparisons of Three Different Measurements in the Arch of the Foot

三種足弓高度測量方法的比較

摘要

Background and Purpose: Footprint analysis is an inexpensive, easily accessible, and noninvasive method which can be easily set up and operated by a single operator. We tried to examine a new footprint method represented arch height by reliability and compared to others methods. For the purpose of reliability study, the navicular arch index (NAI), navicular drop test (NDT), and navicular height measurement (NH) were administered by two raters on each subject within a 2-day period. Methods and Measures: A total of thirty-three subjects volunteered to participate in this study. Two inexperienced raters (A, B) made all the measurements that included NAI, NDT, and NH. All the measurements were randomly administered by two raters on the same subject in the same physical environment and repeated within a 2-day time period. Results: All of the measurements had good to excellent inter-rater and intra-rater reliabilities, the ICCs were greater than 0.80. Correlation analyses showed that the NAI results were poor to fair associated with the NDT and NH measurements. Pearson’s r =0.350 (p=0.004), -0.402 (p=0.001) respectively; the NDT was moderate associated with the NH had excellent intra-rater and inter-rater reliabilities, the correlation information showed not highly associated with each other measurements.
