The current article was written in response to an article published in 《Gender Equity Education Quarterly》, commenting on the sexuality education curriculum in Taiwan. It first talked about the history of health education curriculum in basic education, the sexuality education curricular study, and the content of sexuality education in the 《Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines》. Then, it explained particularly the Chinese translation of the term "sexuality education" which appears in the 12-year Basic Education Curriculum Guidelines and made comparisons between the content of "comprehensive sexuality education" (CSE) and "sexuality education" in the curriculum, based on the evidence of the CSE, noting that both were highly similar. In the end, it is hoped that people in gender equity education to respect different values and to cooperate together with sexuality education professionals to bring benefits to adolescents in our society.
