台灣兒童圖畫書插畫之時代風格:1987-2003年民間出版現象與美感偏好

The Style of an Epoch in Children's Picture Book Illustration: The Aesthetic Preference and Phenomena of Private Sectors Publication, 1987-2003

摘要


兒童圖畫書插畫欣賞被視為審美教育的一環。本研究分析1987-2003年,信誼以外,台灣民間出版童書插畫風格特徵,比較即有研究,找出插畫發展軌跡與相關意涵。研究方法採用伊彬(2000)之方法與架構,分析575筆插畫樣本,歸納出11大項28小項風格。研究結果為:一、插畫風格發展分為三大時期。二、風格演變之意義為:1.消費對象擴大、市場擴展至國際、其它藝文工作者加入創作行列、製作題材變動等為插畫風格範圍擴大及種類多樣化之原因;2.插畫家的職業層面與社會角色以及來源不同於以往;3.圖畫書行銷手法改變;4.插畫與動畫、漫畫的關係愈趨明確。三、研究結論為:1.出版社的理念策略不同,反映在風格之呈現。2.早、晚期插畫家風格呈現模式不同,與年代背景有關。3.風格與題材有關。4.圖畫書可朗讀性降低。5.童書插畫風格與審美教育之關係密切。6.童書插畫産業需被重視。

The research analyzed 575 illustrations in children's picture books published by private sectors (except Hsin-Yi foundation) in Taiwan from 1987 to 2003. The 575 samples were categorized into 11 styles and 28 sub-styles. The results were compared with earlier studies about books published by Hsin-Yi foundation and Taiwan government (Chung-Hua Children's Books). The results suggest: firstly, there are three developmental periods of the illustrations of picture books published in Taiwan. Secondly, the related meanings of the development are: 1. The range of readers' age enlarged. The market was expanded to overseas. People of other professions joined children's book making. The subjects of books changed. All above enriched the spectrum of style. 2. The role and sources of illustrator has been changing; 3.The ways to sell and promote children's picture books have been changing. 4. The relation among illustration, animation, and cartoon become clear. Thirdly, the conclusions are: 1. The styles reflect polices and ideality of a publisher; 2. The illustrators of different eras formed their styles in different way; 3. There is relation between subjects of books and styles of illustrations; 4. The children's books become less vocally readable. 5. The relation between styles of children's picture book and aesthetic education is close; 6. The illustration industry of children's picture book should be taken seriously.
