The purpose of this study was to understand the satisfaction of a nursing practice environment and related factors. With convenience sampling, we used ”The practice environment scale of the nursing work index (PES-NWI)” and the intranet to collect satisfaction of nursing practice environment data. We collected 617 data samples from nursing staff in a medical center in southern Taiwan. The results showed that the satisfaction of nursing practice environment score was determined as a percentage, and the average score among nurses was 72.5. The highest score of subscale was ”Nursing Foundations for Quality of Care”, and the lowest score of subscale was ”Staffing and Resource Adequacy”. There were significant differences in the satisfaction of nursing practice environment scores according to professional title and clinical ladders (hierarchical infrastructure) of the participants. The results will be useful in the formulation of nursing policy and nursing administration.
