The cross-sectional study was designed to understand the care burden on the primary caregiver of terminal cancer patients when hospitalization. 75 dyads of patients and families participated in the study. Data collection included patient and family's demographics, patient's performance status, patient's symptom distress, and psychological distress, primary caregiver's social support, and the caregiver's burden. The results revealed that the severity of caregiving burden on the primary caregiver was in the order: Time arrangement, impact on health, economics situation, and other family's support. The stepwise regression showed that the level of caregiver's social support and patient's performance status could significantly predict the time arrangement burden (R^2=24.2%). The main predictors of economics situation were caregiver's social support, children caregiver and period of care (R^2=21.7%), the main predictors of caregiver's health impact were caregiver's age, the main predictors of other family's support and self esteem was the level of caregivers' social support . The results suggest that the caregivers should be concerned and be supported to release their burden, and then, to increase the quality of terminal cancer patients care.
