大學生身體組成與脂肪分布之探討

Investigation on the Body Composition and Fat Distribution for College Students

摘要

Purpose: To understand the body composition variation and visceral fat increase for the students of Yuan Ze university. Methods: Students (1,209 male and 1,145 female subjects) were divided into six groups by age (18-23 years old). Body composition was analyzed by segmental multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis. A one-way analysis of variance among the different groups and Scheff's protected least significant differences test was performed. The differences between male and female of students were analyzed by independent t-test. It holds the value of a type I error to 0.05 for each test. Results: The fat mass of male and female students was not different at 22 and 23 ages. Male students were significantly higher than female students in skeletal muscle mass (SMM), waist to hip ratio (WHR), visceral fat area (VFA), and waist circumference (WC). However, Female students were significantly higher than male students in body fat mass (BFM) and percentage of body fat (PBF). Besides, some measurements of male or female at all age groups were significant differences (p<.05), especially, the differences of the measurements was related to the fat, and most of the differences between the groups of 18, 22 and 23 ages for male student. Conclusions: Our main finding is that male students were lower than female students in body fat mass during the college period, but male students banked up much fat at abdominal area and increased more visceral fat with age.
