Since the economic revolution and opening market, the products made in China have compared advantages in price competition. Here in Taiwan, with the trend at increasing cost of labor force and land, many local enterprises has considered Taiwan a R&D center and moved production line to Mainland China to enlarge the scale of production. In recent years, the return on mainland investment has emerged gradually. Factories in the mainland have been profitable for corporations. In order to increase the entire competitive strength and integrate the managing strategies, this study, by the case of Giant Manufacturing Company's portfolio, concerns the feasibility of stepping westward to the mainland, internal and external environment, and the current situation of the Taiwanese bicycle industry, so as to analyze Giant's competitiveness and discuss about the coming trend of the industry's structure. Accordingly, advice on future operational strategy is given to Giant Company and other bicycle companies attempt the mainland's market.
