As indicated by plenty research, music has an impact on nervous systems and brains and thus music enhance therapeutic effect. To occupational therapists, movement activity is a commonly used therapeutic medium that enables patients to recover their psychological, physiological and social functions. In this research, the researchers reviewed the literature on the effect of background music on people, investigated how background music benefits patients receiving movement activity, and sort out the music-movement therapy activities and their underlying principles will be available to fellow medical professionals, especially for occupational therapists. This research is the first of its kind to summarize the effects of music-movement therapy on rehabilitation care.
