The purpose of this research was to discover the strengths and weaknesses of the National Taiwan Men's and Women's Handball Team. This study also served as a reference for future training and competitions. The data was taken from the ”Akita Cup of Asia University Handball Invitational Competition” held in Shanghai's Tongji University. A combined analysis using quantitative data and actual video tape recording resulted in the conclusions below. For the women's team, the points for improvement included: 1. Improve ball passing, this ability is especially required in fast break and from the back to the pivot. 2. Improve the wing player's attack abilities. 3. Defense should be more active, tight and voluntarily. 4. Improve the coordination of physical and mental pressure. 5. Improve the goal keeper's attack and defense abilities. For the men's team, the points for improvement included: 1. Strengthen the concepts of normal player's long shoots, substituting for defense position and the ability to suppress fast break. 2. Improve the success shooting rate of fast break and the ability to receive the passes ball of fast break. 3. Improve the goal keeper's attack and defense abilities.
