By investigating the public's cognition on the main functions of National Natural Park (NNP), this study aims to identify the blind spots in operational management of NNP. By random sampling and purposive sampling, a questionnaire survey was conducted, and 352 valid samples were retrieved. The neural network was used to analyze and detect the correlation between place attachment and environment cognition, so as to estimate the tourists' tendency towards the policy development. The results showed that people who pay more attention to leisure and recreation ignore the ecology conservation (-0.259) and local customs (-0.116). Ecological conservation (0.083) and local public sentiment (0.091) non-significant relationship, overall penetration is low of public's. Thus, the management units of NNP should reinforce their positioning on environmental protection, and guide the tourist to have correct cognition on the recreational function of NNP.
