Enterococcal Meningitis Presented with Repeat Ventriculo-Peritoneal Shunt Dysfunction-Case Report

腸球菌腦膜炎引發重複性腦室－腹腔引流術功能障礙的病例報告

摘要

一位43歲男性因腦膜疾病所形成的水腦症而接受腦室腹腔引流手術。重複性引流功能障礙發生在術後第5到9個月，其後多次施行引流修復手術。術中發現腹腔部分的引流管受到纖維蛋白所包覆阻塞，使得腦脊髓液未能達到腹腔，最後腦脊髓液細菌培養結果為腸球菌感染。我們報告一種罕見的，以重複性腦室腹腔引流功能障礙為臨床表現的腸球菌腦膜炎。

A 43-year-old male received ventriculoperitoneal shunt for hydrocephalus caused by leptomeningeal disease. Repeat shunt dysfunction occurred after operation of 5 to 9 months. Revisions of the shunt were performed for several times. The abdominal part of the shunt was coated by fibrin. Encystment occurred that cerebrospinal fluid couldn't reach the peritoneal cavity. The cerebrospinal fluid culture revealed enterococcus species infection finally. We reported a rare clinical course of enterococcus meningitis that presented with several episodes of ventriculoperitoneal shunt dysfunction.
