國小學童善終概念之研究-以台北縣樹林市國小高年級學童爲例

A Study on high-grade Elementary School Student's Concept of good death-A Case of Elementary School Students in Shulin, Taipei County

摘要


本研究旨在瞭解1019位研究對象的善終概念,以自編的國小學童善終概念量表做爲工具。研究對象的善終概念共有十九項,可歸類爲「內在期待」、「壽終正寢」及「臨終環境」三個因素。 「內在期待」因素包含「已完成重要的事」、「沒有遺憾」、「完成願望」、「沒有煩惱」、「自己或家人不悲傷」、「親友兒女幸福」、「情緒穩定」、「家人的陪伴祝福」、「安心」、「開心的帶著微笑」、「安詳」等十一項,而完成個人、家庭、社會、文化之標準的期待與夢想的達成,是建構善終期待的關鍵。 「壽終正寢」因素包含「躺在自己的床上」、「家裡」、「睡夢中」、「自然的死亡」、「老死」等五項,其概念內涵與醫療科技進步有密切的關聯。 「臨終環境」因素則包含「在美麗的大自然中」、「周遭環境乾淨舒適」、「安靜的」等三項,顯示研究對象期待死亡當下能有寧靜的氛圍、開闊的空間感及與累不同的死亡方式。 據此,本研究提出以善終概念爲核心的生命教育課程建議及對未來研究的建議。

The purpose of this study is to understand the concepts of good death of subjects and probe the variation of concepts of good death of the subjects. The subjects are 1019 students sampled from the elementary schools in Shulin, Taipei County by sampling with probability proportional to size and stratified proportional random sampling method. A measure, developed by researcher, on elementary school student's concept of good death is used as the instrument. Results of this study show that the subjects' concept of good death integrates the development of a person's life experience, the traditional good death thinking and the point of view on modem medical. There are 19 good death items that can be categorized as ”closure”, ”end of life” and ”dying environment” three factors. Factor 1, ”closure”, contains 11 concepts: ”important things have been completed”, ”no regret”, ”desire to complete”, ”no vexation”, ”oneself or family are not sad”, ”relatives friends and children are happy”, ”emotional stability”, ”family and friends are around and give blessing”, ”peace of mind”, ”with a happy smile”, and ”serene”. The key to construct good death is to complete the individual, family, social and cultural expectations of the standards and to accomplish dreams. Factor 2, ”end of life”, contains 5 concepts: ”lie down in one's own bed”, ”at home”, ”in sleep”, ”to die naturally”, and ”old enough to death”. The meanings of these concepts are closely linked with the advances in medical technology. Factor 3, ”dying environment”, contains 3 concepts: ”in the beautiful nature”, ”clean and comfortable environment”, and ”quiet surrounding”. These 3 concepts show that the subjects are looking forward to the peaceful atmosphere, a sense of open space and an unique way to death. Accordingly, the researcher brings up suggestions about life education curriculum based on good death as the core concept, and advice for future research.
