擴增實境教具在有機分子立體化學的教學與學習輔助

The Effect in Learning Fundamental Stereoisomerism in Organic Chemistry under the Assistant of Augmented Reality Teaching Aids

摘要


本研究開發出針對有機分子立體化學的擴增實境教具,教學模組是基於問題導向式的課堂活動並且搭配此虛擬教具,而教學目標分為三大重點:有機分子結構表徵法與轉換、構象與構型異構物、鏡像與非鏡像異構物等。另外,牽涉到特定立體化學觀念的有機反應也可以在課堂活動中運用此虛擬教具,幫助學生了解反應得到異構物產物與反應機構的關聯性。相較於只在課堂上操作實體分子模型,學生們在課後可以透過虛擬教具持續與化學分子互動,達到反覆練習與自我學習的效果,提升了複雜的有機分子立體化學的學習成效。目前適用於iOS與android手機系統的軟體都可以免費下載,歡迎對於有機分子立體化學教學或學習上有需求的教師或學生多加使用。

In this study, we have developed a novel teaching aids for learning fundamental stereoisomerism in organic chemistry (OC) through modern techniques of augmented reality (AR). The instructional module is based on a problem-leading learning in class activity through the assistance of our virtual tools. The lesson plan was divided into three subjects including structural representations/interconversion for organic molecules, conformation/configuration isomers, and enantiomers/diastereomers. Moreover, the organic reactions involving specific stereochemistry concepts and the correlations for their isomeric products can be also conducted in the class activity using our AR tools. Comparing with in-class training by physical model kits, students can perform self-training/instruction at home through the assistance of AR teaching aids. Students themselves also agree that the virtual tools did help to understand complex stereoisomerism in OC. The AR teaching aids were now available on Google Play and the App Store.
