摘要
上顎橫向缺陷在成人中好發率約為10%，在臨床上常會有單側或雙側、全部或部分的後牙錯咬等特徵。若在青春期快速生長前早期診斷，單純的上顎擴張器即可發揮效果，然而隨著年紀生長，成人的上顎骨縫癒合，過去需要在全身麻醉下使用手術進行骨縫劈開後再使用裝置擴張，然而因手術之侵略性與風險，較難為病人接受。近年則有迷你骨釘輔助的上顎快速擴張，為上顎橫向缺陷成人的治療開了一扇新的窗。
