Rich data for the studies on Chinese language is available in the Buddhist scriptures of Chinese translation. By surveying Buddhist Sanskrit Manuscripts and Chinese translation, this paper argues that based on the collation of Sanskrit and Chinese Buddhist text, we can utilize the unique textual value of Chinese translation, dig out the useful information for the studies on the history of Chinese language, and deepen our knowledge on the history of language contact and Chinese language. In the meantime, the paper also notices some problems which need to face in the collation of Sanskrit and Chinese Buddhist text.
