The Development and Applications of the Academia Sinica Digital Humanities Research Platform

The Academia Sinica Digital Humanities Research Platform is a text analysis platform built to meet the demands of humanities scholars. It provides free cloud services to facilitate research, including acquisition, browsing, editing, annotation, analysis, visualization, downloading, and open sharing of research materials and results, all of which are seamlessly integrated into the platform. Through convenient, easy-to-use tools and abundant research materials, we hope to attract humanities scholars to invest in digital humanities research and promote the development of this field. The core design principles of the platform are "openness" and "collaborative research." Researchers can not only use the open resources organized on the platform, they can also openly share their own results through the platform, allowing the fruits of their research to continuously grow and accumulate. Solo researchers, aside from finding a useful digital assistant in the platform itself, can also find fellow researchers with similar interests on the platform to collaborate with, thus raising the scope and quality of work. This article is an introduction to the functions and applications of the different types of digital tools that researchers will commonly use on the platform, and explains the platform's current operations along with our own observations.
