A Rare Moth, Ratarda tertia Strand (Lepidoptera: Ratardidae), from Palin, Taiwan

摘要
Ratardidae in Taiwan involve only the single species, Ratarda tertia Strand; a rare day-flying moth of montane forests. The present paper notes on collection of this sole Taiwan species and its morphology. Related species are known only from the Himalayas (4 spp.) and Sabah (3 spp.), with an undescribed species known from northern Sumatra.

缺繮蠹蛾科（Ratardidae）屬於原始型蛾類，在臺灣僅有缺繮蠹蛾（Ratarda tertia Strand）一種，本蟲晝間活動，生活於山林地帶，甚爲罕見。本文除記述其發現經過外，並説明缺繮蠹蛾科種類之分佈情形：喜馬拉雅山區4種，沙巴地區3種，臺灣1種以及蘇門答臘北部1種，因可證明臺灣擁有古代動物系殘存遺跡。
