摘要

本文探討機車排氣消音系統於設計及製造上的相關經驗與記錄，除可作為設計廠商參考之依據，並可幫助製造廠商做為製程改善與產品檢核之用：文中分別探討二或四行程單紅機車引擎與排氣消音系統匹配間的需求與因素、觸媒導入所引發的高溫現象之問題與對策、製造公差與夾治具精度的重要性、疲勞耐久及振模特徵下結構強度的考量。

This work summarized the experiences, rules and data about the motorcycle muffler design and manufacture. It is deemed that the results would be useful for both the designer and manufacturer to improve and refine their vehicles. The contents of this work included (1) the problems of matches between engines and mufflers, (2) the temperature effect came from catalyst and its measures, (3) the importance of assemble tolerance and machining precision, and (4) fatigue failure caused by vibration.
