論意第緒語電影及其影評

二十世紀初期意第緒語依然為活用的語言時，歐洲與美國地區共計上映了近百部意第語電影，這些影片大都在極為不佳之先決條件下製作產生，因而造成意第語電影雖然足以自成一格，卻藝術技巧不夠純熟的特殊發展歷程。本文首要概括性介紹以意緒語為主體的猶太電影，其次以分析1924至1950年期間以英語及意第緒語撰寫的影評報刊雜誌作為文獻研究基礎，旨在於論述「意第緒語電影」作為電影類型之發展趨勢及其侷限性，更進一步探討意第緒語電影如何藉由離散猶太人之族群意識及語言特性展現猶太文化之電影藝術生命，並且於電影史上成就其特殊地位。

While Yiddish language was being used actively in the early twentieth century, hundreds of Yiddish films were being produced in Europe and America around the same time. Though films in Yiddish has an unique style, the insufficient production technology has resulted in an unsatisfactory artistic representation. This article begins with an overview of Jewish films in Yiddish language, and analyse English/Yiddish films between 1924 and 1950 through film megazines and movie commentaries. The purpose of this article is to analyize how, as Yiddish films, the developing trends and its limitations, as well as how dispora was characterized through Jewish films.
