除草劑農藥殺丹Benthiocarb廣泛使用於水稻田以除雜草,為知其在乳羊中之代謝,乃以約1mg/kg劑量之(上標 14)C-Benthiocarb每天分三次投與乳羊,於第四天早上投與後4小時屠殺乳羊。其間每天採集乳汁、尿液和糞便供放射線分析,另外乳羊屠殺後亦採集血液、腦、脂肪、心臟、腎臟和肝臟供放射線分析。得知Benthiocarb約有75%之(上標 14)C劑量由尿液排泄,約有19%由糞便排泄,另約有5%殘留體內。Benthiocarb在樣品中之含量,若以(上標 14)C量來換算,得知尿液為11~21ppm,糞便為1.3~3.8ppm,肝臟為0.90ppm,腎臟為0.16ppm,乳汁為0.03~0.06ppm, 血液為0.04ppm,脂肪為0.04ppm,心臟為0.03ppm,腦為0.02ppm和肌肉為0.01~0.02ppm。Benthiocarb在乳羊中之主要代謝產物,在組織器官為4-Chlorobenzyl methyl sulfone,尿液為N-(4-Chlorobenzoyl) glycine,糞便為4-Chlorobenzoic acid。

The metabolism of (superscript 14)C-ring labeled benthiocarb in a lactating goat was studied. A goat (40 kg) in the midlactating stage was orally dosed with (superscript 14)C-benthiocarb (13 mg) in a gelatin capsule three times a day. Dosing was after the morning milking, at noon, and after the evening milking. The last dose was given on 4 day after the morning milking and the goat was sacrificed 4 hr later. Milk, urine, and feces were collected daily. At sacrifice, samples of blood, brain, fat, heart, kidney, and liver were collected for (superscript 14)C analyses. It was found that benthiocarb was rapidly metabolized, and its metabolites were quickly eliminated. Approximately 75% of the (superscript 14)C dose was excreted in the urine, and approximately 19% of the (superscript 14)C dose was excreted in the feces. Only about 5% of the (superscript 14)C dose remained in the body. The levels of the (superscript 14)C in the collected samples calculated as benthiocarb were: urine, 11-21 ppm; feces, 1.3-3.8 ppm; liver, 0.90 ppm; kidney, 0.16 ppm; milk, 0.03-0.06 ppm; blood, 0.04 ppm; fat, 0.04 ppm; heart, 0.03 ppm; brain, 0.02 ppm; and muscle, 0.01-0.02 ppm. The major (superscript 14)C compounds found in the samples were: 4-chlorobenzyl methyl sulfone in tissue and/or organ samples, N-(4-chlorobenzoyl) glycine in urine, and 4-chlorobenzoic acid in feces.
