Open bite is one of the most difficult orthodontic problems in growing children, and the posttreatment stability is considered unpredictable. It is due to multiple factors such as overbite development, craniofacial growth, and improper oral habits. The morphologic features of open bite were documented by previous researches. These are useful references for orthodontists not only to predict the vertical facial growth in children or adolescents with open bite but also to identify the cause of open bite in adults.
