本研究希望藉由使用自鎖式及傳統式矯正器於下顎擁擠齒列,並以不拔牙的治療計劃完成治療後,探討使用這兩種不同的矯正器對牙弓改變之異同。從病患資料庫中選出71位符合條件之樣本,其中的40位使用OPA-K矯正器,31位使用自鎖式Damon矯正器,針對治療前後牙科研究模型來測量犬齒、小臼齒、及大臼齒間距、牙弓周徑、牙弓長度的改變,以及側面測顱X光片測量下顎門牙的傾角及位置的改變。結果發現:擁擠的下顎齒列以不拔牙的治療計劃治療,無論使用哪一種矯正器,患者均有牙弓橫向尺寸擴大、牙弓周徑及長度增加,以及下顎前牙前傾及前移的現象。不過自鎖式矯正器組在牙弓橫向擴張量統計上顯著大於傳統式矯正器組,下顎門牙前傾及前移量則小於傳統式矯正器組。(J. The purpose of this research is to compare the arch changes after non-extraction orthodontic treatment on the mandibular crowding dentition between self-ligation and conventional bracket systems. Seventy-one samples that satisfied the criteria were selected from the patient database, including forty samples in the conventional bracket group and thirty-one in the self-ligating bracket group. Pre-treatment and post-treatment intercanine width, interpremolar width, intermolar width, arch perimeter and arch length were measured from the study cast, and angulation and position of mandibular incisors were measured from the cephalometric radiograph. The result showed that after non-extraction treatment on the crowding mandibular dentition, increases in the arch transverse dimension, arch perimeter, arch length, and proclination and protrusion of the mandibular incisors were observed for both groups. The self-ligating group showed a statistically greater transverse expansion and less increase in the proclination and protrusion of the mandibular incisors than the conventional group. (J.
