病例報告：貓之急性樟腦油中毒

三隻貓分屬兩個家庭飼養，畜主皆以樟腦油為其驅除身上跳蚤，隨即出現精神沉鬱、厭食及昏睡等症狀。兩週後被帶至中興大學獸醫教學醫院就診，身體檢查可見脫水、嚴重黃疸且身上可聞到輕度至重度不等的樟腦油味，血液學及血清生化學檢查可見許多數值異常，其中又以自血球增多及血清中肝、腎功能指數升高最明顯。三隻患貓皆於住院後隔天至四天內不治死亡。其中一隻患貓經畜主同意進行剖解，組織病理學上可見嚴重黃疸、皮下出血、膀胱漿膜及黏膜層出血。鏡檢下肝小葉周邊區域呈現核大嗜鹼性之肝細胞，肝細胞內充滿脂肪小滴。腎盂乳突部出血，但腎小管細胞並無壞死，出現新生成嗜鹼性之小管上皮細胞。膀胱移行上皮細胞層消失，黏膜層出血壞死脫落，肌肉層裸露出血，漿膜層亦出血。新生成之腎小管上皮細胞及肝臟組織，推測曾經為壞死之病灶區。最終診斷為貓之急性樟腦油中毒。

Three cats was treated with camphor oil for flea by the owner two weeks ago and then had signs with depression, anorexia and lethargy. On physical examination, all of these cats had symptoms of dehydration, sever jaundice and light to heavy camphor smelling. Leukocytosis and abnormal hepatic and renal function results were detected by blood examination. Unfortunately all of these three cats were dead from first day to forth day after hospitalization. One of the cats got the necropsy, we referred necrosis of the new lesions because regeneration of the renal tubular epithelial cells and hepatic tissue were observed from many area and the urine bladder had sever damaged lesions too. Form the history, clinical signs, laboratory and histopathologic finding, this was acute camphor oil intoxicosis in cats.
