Plug-in is a long-existing issue in massively multiplayer online role-playing games. It can be regarded as a fairness concern in the games. Given that the main purpose of a player to engage in a game is to pursue enjoyment, prior literature also posits out that interaction and a sense of social belonging are antecedents of enjoyment. The study develops a research model incorporating perceived fairness and economic compensation to explore the relationship between these factors and enjoyment, and how these factors influence players’ continuance intention. This study collected data from 317 players, and investigated hypotheses with structure equation modeling. Results show that perceived fairness, economic compensation, interaction and the sense of social belonging are antecedents of enjoyment. Enjoyment also shows significant positive predictors on the continuance intention of players.
