The use of computed tomography has been increasing over the years. In 2008, this hospital’s frequency of annual computed tomography use was 61,578. The outpatient clinic’s frequency of annual computed tomography was 36,563. As for the daily clinic’s frequency, it was about 128. The average waiting time for each individual was about 89 minutes. Hence, often there were patients who complained that the waiting time was too long. Since January of 2009, in order to shorten the patients’ waiting time of computed tomography, this hospital established the Quality Control Circle Group to execute the healthcare quality improvement plan. Possible reasons for prolonging the patient’s waiting time of computed tomography would be analyzed, and the most effective solutions were proposed. Through this improvement plan, the average waiting time for each individual has been shortened by 18 minutes, and the improvement rate was 20.2%.
