裴利的說演故事在幼兒英語教學上的運用

The Application of Vivian Gussin Paley's Story Telling and Acting in Teaching English to Preschoolers in Taiwan

摘要


本文敘述在幼兒英語教學上運用裴利說演故事的教學過程與成果。首先描述作者在幼兒英語故事課程裡採用裴利說演故的思考歷程、經過,以及活動鋪陳技巧的練習過程。2003年秋季,作者開始在有使用英語能力的幼兒英語故事班裡融入說演故事活動,因觀察到幼兒對該活動的熱衷,以及發現該活動滿足了幼兒發展主的部分需求,因此一學期之後,便讓尚未有能力使用英語的幼兒英語故事班上也進行說演故事。繼而從三個學期以來幼兒所述說的故事裡,舉例分析、說明說演故事,不但能夠滿足幼兒的發展需求,同時也能激發幼兒人際關係的學習、語言的學習、思考推理的練習,以及觀察與表達的練習。

The purpose of this paper is to describe the process and analyze the outcomes of the application of Story Telling And Acting learned from Vivian Gussin Paley in author's classes of English Story for Preschoolers. The first part of this paper describes why author wished to try the method of Story Telling And Acting, how author practiced it, and what were challenges the author had to confront with. The second part of this paper gives examples of the stories children told in the activity of Story Telling And Acting, and analyze the influence of it in the development of young children and their English learning in three semesters.
