輸血有時在輸血中或輸血後會有併發症的風險。引起輸血相關不良反應主要原因為血液製品中白血球與其生物活性物質(主要是細胞激素:cytokine)引起的發熱性非溶血性輸血反應,而使用儲存前減除白血球血小板可降低輸血相關不良反應。台灣血液基金會所屬的各捐血中心均使用先進的機器收集減除白血球之分離術血小板,並研究其血小板功能,該研究顯示儲存前減除白血球分離術血小板比分離術血小板有較好的血小板功能,且都符合品管標準。各捐血中心對醫療院所宣導儲存前減除白血球分離術血小板對患者的好處,並依病患需求提升製備量,以期提升病人輸血品質及安全。
Blood transfusion is often associated with several adverse events, including febrile nonhemolytic transfusion reaction, that are caused by blood components, such as leukocytes and their soluble biological mediators. Platelet apheresis (PH) performed using apheresis instruments has rapidly increased in recent years. Our previous study demonstrated that the quality of platelets obtained using leukocyte-reduced platelet apheresis (LRPH) is superior to those obtained using PH; however, additional processes are required to reduce leucocytes. Therefore, all blood centers should recruit more blood donors and introduce LRPH to reduce the number of adverse events and improve patient safety.
