CULTURAL CONNOTATION AND WISDOM IN THE TRADITIONAL CHINESE CLASSIC TAO TE CHING

摘要

For over 2,000 years, Tao Te Ching has been regarded as the quintessence of Chinese cultures and thoughts. Those who have read it are like the ladder of human progress, watching the changes of the universe from above and the ups and downs of the world from below. It embodies the classic thoughts of Chinese Taoism, among which the concept of "harmony between man and nature" is worth learning and prominently reflects Lao-Tzu's view of nature. Lao-Tzu attaches great importance to the harmonious relationship between man and nature, emphasizing that heaven, earth and man are an organic whole featuring mutual rise and fall. His concept of nature and man not only contributes excellent thoughts to oriental classical philosophy, but also has great significance to the sustainable development of ecological theory construction in contemporary society. This study aims to analyze the classical wisdom, culture and connotation of Tao Te Ching applied in work and life and help to understand the basic concepts of oriental classical philosophy and its significance to contemporary social life.
