Taiwanese pop music has developed for more than 90 years since the late 1920s. Taiwanese pop music lost the stage of development in the 1970s, due to the promulgation of the Radio and Television Act by the government at that time, and attracted many people to devote themselves to Taiwanese song creation in the period of the “New Taiwanese Song Movement” after the lifting of martial law. In recent years, the independent music industry has risen to create Taiwanese pop music, which is welcomed by the younger generation in social media and music perfor-mances. In addition to showing a distinct self-style in music, these new generations of Taiwanese music songwriters also combine technology, visual and local elements to bring freshness to the audience. Based on 21 independent music creators, music producers and music festival organ-izers, this in-depth report describes how independent bands continue the usage of Tai-wanese language through their music creativity. This in-depth report starts to present the motivation of independent bands in creating Taiwanese songs, their choice of music style themes, the dilemma of music creation, and the bands' operating business model. The following chapters would feature music producers who find out ways to devel-op new fashion in Taiwanese pop music for the younger generation. The last conclusion would feature a young independent band, narrating their confusion about the career in music industry, and the turning point for them to continue creating Taiwanese pop music.
