教育代理人(Pedagogical Agent)是目前智慧型機器人研究中的一個重要發展發向,過去我們將教育代理人稱之為虛擬角色(virtual characters),相關種種的研究都指出了虛擬角色確實對教學上是有相當的助益,虛擬角色確實能在教學上對我們產生影響,提供益處,但也虛擬角色被局限於平面電腦之上,產生部分的使用者認為虛擬角色不過只是一台電腦,因而對其提供的功能與服務有所排斥,使得本來應該產生的幫助因此減少或消失。故此近年來的發展以漸漸朝向將虛擬角色實體化。 相關的研究也指出,機器人與虛擬角色主要的差別還是在於人們對其感覺上的強度不一樣,人們對於機器人感覺會比較真實。使用者可以較容易或直覺使用機器人,但同樣的,目前的機器人,其內建的行為固定,使用者面對機器人,並不能如真實的人一般,能有豐富的行為變化,經過一段時間,使用者便會對該機器人失去興趣,而將其棄置一旁。 本研究期望能設計一套情境以輔助使用者與寵物機器人互動,透過有意義及豐富的行為互動變化,讓使用者對寵物機器人的行為產生回應,進而達到輔助學習的目的。
Pedagogical Agent is an important development of intelligent robot research. All the related various researching had point out that the Virtual Character certainly has quite assist in teaching. Certainly, the virtual character may have bearing on education to us with benefit. However the Virtual Character has been restricted on the computer platform, so some of the user may consider the virtual character is just a computer and rejected to accept the function and service it supplied. For the reason some of the benefit it provide will be reduce or disappear. Therefore the development of these years is making the virtual character materialization. The related research had point out that the major difference between robot and virtual character none the less is the strength of feeling of human. The feeling of robot will be more real. User may easily use robot or use it by institution. But the same, the built inside actions of robot are fixed at presently, therefore the robot that user faces will not be as same as real person which may have plenty of action variation. So after time pass through, the user will be uninterested with robot and put it away. The objective of this research is to design a standard rule to keep a long relationship between the robot virtual character and student, and it may help student in learning.
