新加坡兩間綜合度假村的建設附屬了賭場，賭場的開業，實際上為國家帶來經濟的增長，但也帶來了對社會，家庭，和個人一些影響。新加坡全國預防嗜賭理事會的調查，顯示嗜賭者有年輕化的趨向。
本研究旨在瞭解新加坡青少年期開始涉入賭博行為現況、探索青少年期開始涉入賭博之因素，和探索青少年賭博問題之預防策略。
本研究採取質性研究之訪談方法蒐集資料，共訪談兩諮商師和兩位前嗜賭者，進行訪談後針對所得之資料進行分析，在綜合歸納整理出四位研究參與者訪談之異同，研究結果發現如下：
一、科技的發展促使賭博的便利性
二、青少年嗜賭情況受父母影響很深，賭博過程成為行為正增強
三、青少年賭博行為與人格偏差有關
四、新加坡政府戒賭政策並未考量青少年的情況
五、嗜賭者藉由贏錢經驗提升自信
六、青少年的賭博行為明顯與同儕關係有關
七、新加坡華人與社會提升賭博行為合理化
最後，研究者根據上述研究結果進行談論，並據此提出若干建議，以供諮商專業工作者、青少年、父母親、政府政策、教育體系以及後續研究作為參考。

Abstract
The two integrated resorts in Singapore were constructed with Casinos. The opening of these two Casinos, in actual fact bring about the country economic growth, but also have effects the country socially, family, and also personally effect. National Council on Problem Gambling （Singapore, NCPG） investigations showed signs of gamblers are of the younger trend.
This study aims to understand Singaporean adolescents onset behavior in gambling and also to explode the reasons for adolescents gambling. This is also to understand their gambling problems and discover preventive strategies.
In this study, qualitative researches were to conduct interviews to collect information, of which a total of four interviews with two experienced Counselors and two ex-gamblers were done separately. Comprehensive studies were done on the data obtained through the 4 interviews which were analyzed and sorted into similarities and differences. The results found are as followed:
1. With the conveniences through high technology, gambling is easily accessible and thus it is promoted.
2. Adolescent gambling is deeply influenced by parents and gambling behavioral is reinforced through processes.
3. Adolescent gambling behavior could due to flaws in personality.
4. Singapore Government gambling policy does not take into consideration of adolescents’ situation.
5. Winning in gambling boost one’s confidence.
6. Adolescent gambling behavior largely could due to peer pressure.
7. Singapore Chinese and the society promote and rational gambling behavior.
Finally, the researchers reported on the results of study and put forth a number of proposals to allow the counselling professionals, adolescents, parents, Government policy, the education system and as a reference for the future research works.
