台北市臨濟護國禪寺之設計研究－以日式建築為例

摘要
回溯台灣的歷史，當日本人統治台灣的期間，當政者為穩定動盪不安的社會，達到宣揚政教合一的理念並強化深耕日本的精神象徵意義，在台灣各地陸續興建許多大小規模不一的神社建築，也將日本佛教有計畫地傳入台灣。然日本佛教在台建設期間，除了與本地宗教產生融合外，亦留下許多優美的日本神社建築。此一特殊的歷史背景至今仍深深影響著今日台灣，成為多元、獨特台灣文化的一環。 本研究選擇以座落於台北圓山的《臨濟護國禪寺》為研究對象，經過深入的田野調查分析，發現《臨濟護國禪寺》除了具有獨特的歷史背景外，更蘊含著豐富的人文意涵與意義。《臨濟護國禪寺》在政府經費贊助下，完整保存住優美的日本神社建築，但卻處之高閣無人知曉，無法將其古蹟及其文化的價值公開展現在國人面前，十分可惜。 本研究以文獻探討以及實地探訪之方式，以圓山《臨濟護國禪寺》為研究對象進行《日式建築》的研究與分析，並歸納出文化設計之原則之架構，使其轉化應用於產品設計中。又本研究所發展出台灣日式建築獨特的造型元素，解析出日式建築之文化設計元素的意義，當其應用於產品設計時，以期本研究之設計規範將有助於後學進行文化設計時之參考。

【Abstract】 Tracing back into Taiwanese history to the Japanese colonial era, the Japanese built a variety of Japanese temples in Taiwan in order to promote their concept of harmony between politics and religion, strengthen their spiritual symbols and systematically introduce Japanese Buddhism to Taiwan. Consequently, many stunning Japanese temples can be found in Taiwan today, merging with the local religion. This distinctive historical background had a profound impact on Taiwan, and has contributed to the diversity and uniqueness of Taiwanese culture. This research focuses on Taipei Zen Buddhism Temple of the Rinzai (Linji), located in YuanShan, Taiwan. An in-depth study and analysis was conducted and the findings show that besides the unique historical background, Taipei Zen Buddhism Temple of the Rinzai (Linji) displays a rich cultural essence. Taipei Zen Buddhism Temple of the Rinzai (Linji) is well maintained, as it has the support of government funding. Unfortunately, its beauty and cultural value is not widely known by the public. This study utilized analysis of literature and investigative fieldwork to examine the Japanese architecture, and concludes with the establishment of a framework of cultural design principles which can be transformed into contemporary product designs. This research developed unique design components and identified the meaning behind the fusion of Taiwanese and Japanese architectural styles. The author hopes that this research framework and the results obtained will be a useful reference for future contemporary product designs.
