摘要

民國84年，1995年，是台大醫院成立100周年，同時也是中華民國耳鼻喉科醫學會成立30周年的紀念。有鑒於年輕一代的耳鼻喉科醫師，對於台灣耳鼻喉科的發展均表陌生，又感於資深級耳鼻喉科醫學會會員的逐漸凋零，因此觸發筆者撰寫本文的動機。一方面提醒會員重視歷史，另一方面也為今後有心史學的人士，留下雪泥鴻爪。

Modern medicine was introduced into Taiwan from 1895, and the specialty of otorhinolaryngology in Taiwan was established in 1992. By 1995, we will celebrate one hundredth anniversary of medicine in Taiwan. The first half of the century in the development of otorhinolaryngology could be attributed to Japanese otolaryngologists; whereas the second half has been contributed by the native otolaryngoloists in Taiwan. The Otolaryngological Society of the Republic of China was founded in 1965, and its members have increased tenfold in 30 years.
