Successful Treatment of Oral Verrucous Hyperplasia with Cryotherapy-A Case Report
口腔疣狀增生之冷凍治療－病例報告
摘要
口腔疣狀增生屬於口腔癌前病變之一，可能會轉變成為疣狀癌或鱗狀細胞癌。口腔疣狀增生之傳統治療方式為手術切除，而術後往往會留下疤痕。在此篇病例報告中，我們利用冷凍治療的方法來治療一個位於六十一歲男性舌頭右側的斑狀疣狀增生。此病變在經過十三次的冷凍治療之後完全消失。術後十五個月的追蹤檢查無復發的跡象。治療的結果顯示，冷凍治療對於斑狀的口腔疣狀增生病變有很好的治療效果。

Oral verrucous hyperplasia (OVH) is a premalignant lesion that may transform into a verrucous carcinoma or a squamous cell carcinoma. Traditional treatment for an OVH is total surgical excision that always leads to scar formation. In this case report, we tested cryotherapy for a plaque-typed OVH lesion on the right posterior border of tongue of a 61-year-old male patient. The tumor was cleared after 13 treatments. No recurrence of the lesion was found after a follow-up period of 15 months. We suggest that cryotherapy may be effective in treating plaque-typed OVH lesions.
