The Comparative Study on the Content of Concepts between Teaching and Coaching

摘要


Teaching和Coaching兩者本質上有所不同,然而目前卻因各級學校體育教師與運動教練相互兼代,其專業踐行常被混淆,嚴重影響兩種專業的踐行及服務成效,是以有必要針對兩概念內涵做一比較。本文採文獻分析法及歸納法進行概念考察,經分析後認爲,兩者概念有相同之處,但分屬兩種不同專業,其在概念內涵、專業作爲及過程特徵等層面上均有不小差異。從概念標記的從屬及系譜觀之,physical education/teacher/teaching應屬同一範疇中,physical education爲範疇概念標記,teacher爲業務執行者稱謂,teaching則爲執行業務者之具有教育性之作爲。sport/coach/coaching則屬同一範疇,sport爲此範疇總稱,coach爲執行業務人員稱呼,coaching則爲執行業務者以競技成就爲主要考量之作爲。

There were essential differences between teaching and coaching. But now, in Taiwan, the two kinds of professional practice were mixed in schools, because the physical education (PE) teachers were the part-time sport coaches and the sport coaches were the part-time PE teachers. The effectiveness of professional service had been influenced by this kind of mixed situation. It’s necessary to analyze and compare the content of the two concepts. The research methods of this study were induction and document analysis. After the examination and comparison, the content of two concepts was similar in several dimensions, but there were many differences in other dimensions which were content of concept, professional behavior and characteristic of process. In the scope of genealogy of concepts, ”PE/Teacher/Teaching” was a realm. PE was the label of the field. Teacher was the specialist who operated the profession. And teaching was agency of specialist which was educational. ”Sport/Coach/Coaching” was another realm. Sport was the label of the other field. Coach was the specialist who operated the profession. And coaching was agency of specialist which focused on athletic performance.
