Since the 1980s, some Christian conservatives have actively demanded that Creationism be added into public school earth science and biology textbooks, while also challenging the scientific validity of evolution theory. This has caused a vehement backlash from communities of scientists, educators, and legal experts. This paper argues that although the Bible has many scriptural verses that support perspectives of Creationism, it also contains a significant number of key passages more inclusive of evolution theory ideas. Creationism must be integrated with evolution theory before it can more clearly explain God's process of creation and related ethical positions and be assimilated into the Chinese Christian context.
