Former ”Army 1st Special Service Branch” personnel from around Taiwan demonstrate on Ketagalan Boulevard in Taipei to demand that they be compensated for having their military service extended by one year 13 March 2011. Base on the enacted Taiwan ”Army 1st Special Soldier” for 20 years since January 25, 1967 to January 1, 1987, this study tries to compare with the former ”Cold War” (1945-1990) participant countries such as United States, Soviet Union, Korea, and Israel in military service and manpower mobilization and restore the background and legitimacy in order to investigate Taiwan's policy on military service and personnel mobilization at that time. This study is to propose to department concerns this matter. The results are military service and mobilization were based on the national security, term of military service was for the war preparation, and extension of military service during war time was for battle.
