Vehicle routing problem (VRP) was first introduced by Dantizng & Ramser in 1959. The objective is to visit and serve a number of customers with a fleet of vehicles. Since it was introduced, many studies have been conducted by researchers to solve this NP-hard combinational problem. Today, due to the importance of VRP as a well-known and critical problem in logistics networks, many variants of the problem has been modeled and several software solution packages are offered to fulfill the need for VRP in industry. In this thesis, we first propose a heuristic algorithm for single depot non-directional VRP with time limitations, using clustered TSP approach, which is a two-phase constructive approach that clusters the customers in identical groups first and then solves those individual TSPs using MST and paring method. Furthermore, based on our algorithm, we propose a prototype of an interactive software solution which is applicable to small and medium-sized VRP instances where full customized solution is demanded by route designers.

Trade and Investment is the most important relationship between any nations. Taiwan has 22 allies; most of its allies are in the Caribbean and Central American region. The relationship among these nations is of great importance to Taiwan diplomatic integrity. Relationship is of great importance to these nations which includes Belize; the relationship between Taiwan and Belize can establish a different foot prints in the Caribbean region. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the relationship of the Belize and Taiwan using the AHP model. This research will use Service, Industry and Agriculture sector as alternatives to measure and range the best possible decision which can be undertake between the two nations. This research will use Aquaculture, Electronics products, fruit industry and commodities as criteria which will assist in evaluating the alternatives. This research will introduce the AHP hierarchy which will assess the main structure of the relationship goal (trade and investment). This research will consist of interviews and questionnaires to different Government officials, organization, scholars and businessmen from both countries. ii AHP will design a hierarchy model that will then measure each of the criteria and its alternatives. Then it will form a pairwise comparison matrix which will be created to compute the weight for the different criteria. The matrix option scores will then be calculated to see which of the options can be a suitable decision. In addition, the research will shield light into how both countries can move forward in creating a beneficial FTA between Taiwan and Belize, utilizing Belize as a pathway to Caribbean because of the FTA Belize have in that region. The results will assist the researcher’s research to conduct meaning decision making process that will give solid recommendation to the different parties that will be using this study, which are BELTRADE and Government of Belize.

Smartphones have become much more ubiquitous and smartphone users are increasingly relying on them to store and handle personal information and communicate with many people by social networking service (SNS) such as Facebook. Using SNS applications is common on most mobile device by individuals today and they are main key to providing online service or site to construct social networks or social relations among people. This study involves extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to investigate the effect on intention to use Facebook and user satisfaction. The TAM model has been widely used to identify the determinants of technology acceptance in many contexts, especially for predicting people’s acceptance of information technology. This research model employed basic TAM model and eight constructs: Social influence, personal innovativeness, motivation for instrumental use, information quality, system quality, service quality, and user satisfaction. The research result shows that user perception toward using Facebook which is influenced significantly by perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and satisfaction of Facebook. Also, based on the finding, this study provides theoretical and practical implication for service providers by suggesting significant factors to use SNS application.

Google, Yahoo, and Bing have grown to be an important element of our day-to-day cyberspace utilization. These websites are the first door to knock in search for products reviews, service ratings, or any specific information that people want to know as soon as possible. These mega web-portals are commonly known as Search Engines and they are the ones in charge of returning a collection of results to a user’s search query. Depending on the particular type of technology used by the search engine, the user's query will be solved by a complex algorithm, which in a matter of milliseconds returns a list of websites for the user to select and locate the sites he/she sought. Within the last couple of years, the Internet has been expanding exponentially and the task previously mentioned could result in thousands or even millions of pages being returned by a Search Engine. It is really well known that top result pages have higher probabilities to be clicked by the user and the far a webpage is from the top 10 Search Engine Result Page (SERP) the less likelihood to receive a click. Therefore, how do webmasters, designers, or Internet Marketers promote an internet site so that it will appears near the top of the results and therefore improve their website traffic?

Researchers have been solving location problems with the assumption that the competition in the market does not subject the new facilities that is located in the market. Meanwhile, competitive facility location model is the awareness that a firm’s location may affect its market share. The facilities capture as many customers as possible in order to maximize the market share. On the other hand, no existing facilities exist in the area where p-center problems apply. The objective in p-center is to minimize the cost for customer. The consideration in this research is customers patronize the nearest facility, whereas distance is the attractiveness. Therefore, we could propose an idea to implement the p-center into competitive location problem model in order to satisfy the assumption. Tabu search is one algorithm that has been applied to location problems successfully. In addition to the contributions mentioned earlier, we could also utilize efficient heuristics for facility location with foresight.

The relationship between crude oil price fluctuations and the performance of stock market has been analyzed in various literatures, with different relationship (positive, negative, no relationship). However, a wide number of literatures published have not treated other factors that may affect the stock market performance as a result of changes in the oil price. This paper aims to examine whether fluctuations in the global price of crude oil affects the performance of the Taiwan Stock Exchange in terms of value to investors, trade volume, stock prices, and investor behavior. This study will also analyze the specific case of the Republic of China (Taiwan) as a net oil importer, considerably changing the perspective of the analysis. In addition, Taiwan is a country whose Gross Economic Product relies heavily on exports specifically in the high technology industries, and a more thorough analysis of these factors is found in this research.

One fifth of people all over the world know more or less about English. As one of the rapidly developing countries, Mongolia is at the vital point of developing the country in a most significant and beneficial way; thus people in Mongolia are trying to get the best knowledge including English to compete in international community. However, there are thousands of “overeducated” unemployed people whose knowledge can’t reach the market demand and company’s requirement. In the field of professional engineering, and market demand from the companies’ requirements are undoubtedly asking the knowledge of English. This study is aimed to find out engineering students’ opinion about English subject, hear their neediness, whether they are happy with current service from the school regarding the English by integration of Kano model and Importance Performance Analysis. And further suggest specific solutions to schools to improve their operations to fulfill the students’ demands by using 40 Inventive Principles of TRIZ. The results have been found that it is difficult for students to obtain materials of the English class, have less speaking experience, they are not satisfied with the extra English courses at the university and they have expressed their dissatisfaction according to the native English speakers at their schools. The suggested solutions and recommendations for these problems included in this document are for the purpose of this case; however it can be applied to any field and major.

One of the main providers of 3PL services and main postal operator of Russia is Russian Post. Nowadays the company goes through the hard time. Due to the lack of financial support, the optimization of the distribution process seems very difficult or almost impossible. People cannot receive their dispatches on time; companies lose their customers because of delays related to bad organized operations of Russian post. This situation leads to terrible customers’ dissatisfaction. The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) is a good method for describing and solving the problems of this case. To define the problems I use number of special TRIZ tools. As a result of this process it becomes clear that the key problems are low budget and big amount of mailings and the target problem is that customers do not receive their mailings on right time or in right condition. Outcome of the problem definition is five contradictions that are solved with Contradiction Matrix and 40 Inventive Principles during the next step. On the final stage of the creativity process generic solutions are translated into specific solutions. The list of specific solutions consists of different recommendations that might help to optimize the distribution centers’ operations. Whit a help of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) all specific solutions were evaluated and two most feasible were selected. From this research we can see, that simple yet effective solutions can possibly increase productivity of such a big enterprise as Russian Post, therefore I believe that these solutions can be applied for many other logistics and distribution companies.

The influence of Country-of-origin on consumers’ perceptions and buying decisions is an extensively researched area. The goal of this study is to clarify the factors affecting the consumers’ purchasing decision of electronic consumer products. Furthermore this research aims to investigate the differences of these factors between developed countries, BRIC countries and the Four Asian Tigers with focus on the Country of origin and brand. The research uses a questionnaire to collect data and the one-way ANOVA to analyze the data. Significant differences in the importance of factors influencing the purchasing decision of consumer electronics have been found, which suggests that the influence of quality cues of consumer electronics differs based on the economic maturity of a country group’s market. Furthermore it was found that brand and country-of-origin have great influence on the purchasing decision when buying consumer electronics.
