Purpose: (1) To investigate the current development situation of different levels elite Taekwondo female adolescent athlete's starting, somatotype, and specific kicking, (2) to compare the differences among different levels athletes. Method: The female adolescent athletes who participated in the selection of 2006 World Game were served as the subjects in the study. The data of height, body weight, starting age, and specific kicking were collected, and analyzed by SPSS statistic software. Results: Among the athletes of the first round, the starting age increased as the function of weight category except the athletes in the level 1. The Rohrer's index of the athletes entering into the second round demonstrated central tendency, which the somatotypes of the athletes except level 5 were attributed ectomorphy. The average height of level 3 to 5 is 165.23±3.63 cm~167.43±5.67 cm, which was higher than that of level 1 to 2. Among the usage in the specific kicking, roundhouse-kick occupied highest percentage, subsequently following by axe-kick, back-kick, and the last was spin-whip-kick. Conclusion: The somatotype of level 1 to 4 Taekwondo elite female adolescent athletes in Taiwan is ectomorphy. The athlete in heavy-weight class couldn't attain good accomplishments in the international tournaments was due to that the height is not enough. Hence, to search and cultivate those adolescences with tall and strong bodies is an issue worthy of being emphasized. Moreover, it is noted that roundhouse-kick is dominantly used compared to the other types of specific kicking resulting in the limitation in the performance of effective technique and tactics.
